Wish Upon A Star Blog Hop!

Welcome to the opening day of Wish Upon A Star Blog Hop!
Hosted by Carol from Just Let Me Quilt, this hop will showcase beautiful projects featuring "stars" today through May 25th.

pssst....there's a giveaway at the end of this post,
but don't miss the pretty pictures along the way!

My star table topper happened when I had many leftover HSTs from my Easter table runner.
I loved the colors and fabrics and rather than store them into a bag, I used them!
I was inspired by the Lone Star block pattern that is so popular.

Once the blocks were arranged and sewn together,
I moved onto the task of adding the side strips.
I wanted only one star in the center as this was the focus.

This meant pulling fabrics from my stash. My beloved Joel Dewberry fabrics fit right in!

I free-motion quilted the topper using a clam-shell design.
Nope, it's not perfect. I'm not into that. :)

I also used a pretty fabric piece from my stash for the backing. and a light green for the binding.

Using this on my dining table following Easter still kept me in the Spring mood and lead us right into Mother's Day.

I set my Mom's musical teapot and her doily on top to give her a place at the table.
She's been gone almost 9 years, but still feels so close!

My star table topper measures 22" x 33" and is a perfect size for several spots in my home!

I  hope you've enjoyed your stop here on the blog hop!

Be sure to visit the other creatives this week and see more star projects!
