Welcome To My House Blog Hop!





Welcome "home" to where Hazel's Daughter hangs out!

I am once again honored to be a part of a blog hop hosted by 
Carol from Just Let Me Quilt. 

This blog hop is the place to be to find awesome projects to create and every single one of them has at least one house on it! *Some have even a few more!

My idea came to me while searching through Pinterest. 
Do you ever go there looking for one thing and before you  know it, 
you've lost a good hour of your life? Yep, it happens often here!

So, I found a quilted house block that appealed to me,
 but it lead to no site for a tutorial.
 It was a dead end. Bah.
I played around and figured it out myself.



It was pretty easy....and pretty addictive! 
I had no idea where this was going, 
but I figured I'd need a few neighborhood's worth of house blocks.


I sewed them into "streets" of houses, every one of them unique and colorful!


I also machine embroidered a warm "Welcome" panel 
with some hand-stitching and beads.



I had several chances to practice my French Knot skills. 

In the end, I have a wonderful new wall-hanging to display in my foyer!

I kinda love it!

    I absolutely love this quilt! Your houses are so bright and cheery, and the butterfly is is just the right position. Your Welcome sign is perfect. Love the bead work!

    Hello! I sure do like your wall hanging! I agree with you that Pinterest is a wonderful rabbit hole to be inspired by. You did such a nice job and the handwork makes it stand out.

    Pinterest has a way of stealing an hour or two from us, but I don't like it when it dead ends to a link. I'm glad you managed to make your own way with this block, because it is really adorable. I love the beads in the Welcome section and how it brings the whole quilt together. It is a beautiful piece! Thank you for hopping with us and giving us inspiration with these houses. :O)

    A beautiful scrappy wall hanging! I'm glad that you were able to work out the pattern for yourself. Sometimes, I give up too quickly when I can't find a pattern or tutorial easily.     Oh my, I can see why your bright and colourful houses were addictive. How fabulous they are. Yes, looking at Pinterest is rather akin to the white rabbit getting lost down the hole. This quilt is truly a most beautiful finish. How very clever you are!
