Tell me something quirky about yourself.
I'll start to give you an idea and warm you up to your quirkiness....
~~I never sew with shoes on. Socks or barefoot works best for me.
~~I also have a thing with even numbers.
My alarm clock and car thermostat have to be set at an even number.
Those odd numbers just make me uncomfortable!

im with you on the no shoe thing to sew. I cant get in an elevator if more than one other persons in it, no matter what time I set my alarm at I wake ten mins before drives me nuts, I love cheese and honey sandwiches, I reload the dishwasher after I ask hubby to do it, and I hoard fabric phew thanks that was like free therepy
ReplyDeleteI am also no shoes when sewing. I can't shower or get dressed unless I have my bed made each morning.
ReplyDeleteGuess I'm different-always shoes on when I sew! I drop too many pins!
ReplyDeletehmm. I can build lego models just by looking at the picture (no instructions).
ReplyDeleteI have slept corner to corner of the bed since i was a baby...that DID NOT change when i got married sadly for my husband...so everynight, i start out on my side of the bed, and every morning we wake up and he is in his little triangle curled up tight. He has never complained though, not once in all our twenty years of marriage, lol. God love him. Kellie W. kwarren29@cox.net

ReplyDeleteI have never used a dishwasher. I have one , but I use it to store pots I rarely use.
ReplyDeleteWhen I am eating a meal, I leave the most favourite part of my meal as the last bite!!
ReplyDeleteI have a thing about the number 13. I don't like to do anything if 13 is involved. For instance,if I am making a comment and I am number 13, I will try to wait until someone else comments first. Silly, isn't it.
ReplyDeleteI am a new follower via Bloglovin (love the name of your blog... we will get along famously)!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with the no shoes to sew thing! I need to be able to feel the pedal beneath my foot! Quirky about me? I fold all the edges when I wrap presents. Can't have a raw edge of paper showing!
ReplyDeleteI follow on Bloglovin
ReplyDeleteI use my left foot on the pedal of my sewing machine. My machine has a knee lift and if I get my right leg and my right foot going I seem to mess things up. So years ago I started using my left foot on the pedal. I still use my right foot when driving though!
ReplyDeleteAfter reading all of your posts, I am thinking that my quirkiness is that I sew with my shoes ON! I seldom walk around barefoot. Just the habit that my Mother instilled in me, from being raised in an old farm house with cold floors .... and hardwood that often had splinters come off. I love wearing sandals ... but do not like sand in them. Eww ick! I guess my feet are just plain quirky!
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I do is sew barefoot. If I'm home or away and I'm using my own sewing machine it's more comfortable for me to sew without shoes.
ReplyDeleteI love wearing Pajamas 90% of the time! I also have a thing for even numbers and it drives me crazy when they arent!
ReplyDeleteI always sew barefoot or with socks on.
ReplyDeleteI love my mom's featherweight so much that before the foot peddle was fixed I used it wearing socks till I felt the shocks through my socks, then I moved to slippers till I could feel the zaps through those. That didn't stop me I then wore shoes till I could feel the tingles from my finger tips to my elbows when I touched the base of the machine. lol When that happened it was time to have it fixed.
I'm like Julia Roberts husband in "Sleeping With the Enemy", I like the towels evenly lined up. Even in my linen closet the towels are all folded the same way, stacked and lined up. As a kid I could tell if you walked in my bedroom because you left footprints on my freshly vacuumed carpet. A little crazy I know. Merry! Merry!

I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 52 years
ReplyDeletepatsystitch@gvtc.com
I love to live in my pajamas. They are the most comfortable clothing I own, so why not. And if I remember right, our word "pajama" comes from an Indian word for clothing one wears at home to relax.
ReplyDeleteI have to reorganize my sewing room fabric before I start a new project.
ReplyDeleteI'm the opposite with numbers - I always set my alarm to an odd number (4:03 AM currently) because I feel like I sleep better if I do that,.. isn't that dumb? But I always do it.
ReplyDeleteI also sew barefoot... seems like a lot of us do!
I'm the opposite with the numbers thing- I can't stand even numbers! All my alarms are set for odd numbers.
ReplyDeleteI too sew without shoes. I don't need an alarm clock at all. I wake up exactly the same time, I thought of. I wake up even for a small noise in the middle of the night.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite to sew and quilt is during a rainstorm.
ReplyDeleteI always wear at least two pairs of socks instead :) unless is super hot in summer, then just one is enough. thanks for the chance to win!

ReplyDeleteOur daughter and her 3 children lived with us for almost 4 years... the house is soooo quiet since they moved into their own home this year.
ReplyDeleteI back my car into my garage. That way it is ready to roll when I want to go somewhere.
ReplyDeleteI drive with no shoes on.

ReplyDeleteBecause I learned to drive (in Southern California) without shoes on, even in Drivers Ed, for years I wasn't able to drive with shoes on. It wasn't until recently when I moved to Oregon as an adult and couldn't keep taking my boots off in the winter that I had to buckle down and learn how to drive when I couldn't "feel the pedal". I didn't believe I could do it, but it turned out to be possible.
ReplyDeleteI sew without shoes too! I feel the speed of the machine threw my feet! I have all my little things set in just a way at my machine!
ReplyDeleteI do not snack or eat in my quilt studio. Not even M&Ms. My guild mates find this amazing. I think it's normal.
ReplyDeleteI hate stepping on cement with bare feet....its like nails on a chalk board to me. (great question by the way)

ReplyDeleteI have to line things up visually - like if I can see a post or pole of some sort through a window, I have to visually line it up with the window frame or exactly in the middle or beside a sash or whatever. I never wear shoes in the house yet I have over 100 pairs of shoes and I still buy more. And I am retired and don't go that many places! When I eat, I save what I think is the best part for last. I think I might be kind of nuts - lol. And fabric - I won't even go there....

ReplyDeleteHow funny! We share two of the same quirks. No shoes when sewing and always even numbers, maybe because I was born on an even day. I also try not to use coins when shopping. I pay with bills and then I put all my change in a jar at home. It's a simple way to save and it adds up fast.

ReplyDeletehmm... quirky... uhm.. I only learned to crochet because I was a knitter and someone told me that knitters can't crochet. :)
ReplyDeleteI only wear "real" pants (pajama pants are not real pants) if I have to leave the house or someone comes over.
When I think about something unpleasant, I let out an audible gasp. This has happened in public many a time lol
ReplyDeletelcintocable at gmail dot com
something quirky about me.... too choose just one, I"m really into lines and aesthetically things need to "fit" for me to be comfortable. So if the couch is off center from the window, or the coffee table from the couch I have trouble concentrating!

ReplyDeleteYes I too can relate to being barefoot when sewing. When either on the lap top or watching a movie on LMN I have to eat a roll of Necco candy wafers. I was even thinking about putting a roll into the sewing machine cabinet. Thank you for being a part of the SMS Giveway. I loved the idea of a pattern and a kit. That makes winning this so much fun.
